Chacahua National Park Lagoons
Located 90 km west of Puerto Escondido, is the PN Chacahua Lagoons, a protected area of 14187 hectares. Covered with lush vegetation of mangroves and six different types of forest where have several endemic species of fauna, which includes 6 different species of turtles, as well as a breeding ground for crocodiles and iguanas.

Lagoon Manialtepec
It is located 16 km west of Puerto Escondido, by federal highway No.. 200. It is a body of water of 8 km in length, surrounded by mangroves and variety of vegetation. Here you can observe several colonies of waterfowl as cormorants and anhingas and songbirds and iguanas, ideal for the practice of ecotourism.

Mazunte
It is located 50 km east of Puerto Escondido, by federal highway No.. 200. Here you can see examples of medium forest vegetation, as well as more than 20 species of trees and mangroves. You can also observe sea turtles while spawn on the beach and participate in the activities of the Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga, dedicated to the study and protection of this endangered species.
